The International Youth Day was an event organized by YALI TV in partnership with GIMPA SRC and YALI Alumni Association.
The event was held on the 12th of August 2019, under the theme Transforming Education. The SRC President Spoke on the topic Transformational Interventions by Youth Groups and Networks in Africa where He highlighted the tremendous achievements by His Administration.
The achievements He highlighted were as follows;
Subsidized SRC Hostel for needy students to have a sense of belonging in the school and this has already been occupied.
The SRC negotiating with the management to scrap the 10% increase of fees. This has been achieved.
The Women’s Commissioner has been able to secure scholarships for 10 girls from the MP of Ayawaso West Wuogon Honourable Mrs. Lydia Alhassan.
The SRC to allocate portion of the budget to an endowment fund to support needy students.
The SRC has been able to secure scholarships for 150 students from the MCE of Ayawaso West Wuogon.
Lastly One student one Laptop, His campaign promise which has been actualized by partnering with Organizations.
The Event featured well-renowned leaders from several organizations across Africa such as The Greater Accra Regional Science Coordinator STMIE GES Mrs Betty Boah, Science and Maths Coordinator GES Weija Directorate Mr. Saddick Mohammed, 2016 National Best Teacher Miss Rita Oppong , The Head of Research and Grants Blue Crest University, President of YALI RLC Alumni Association of Ghana, President of Mandela Washington Fellowship Association of Ghana, President of Junior Chamber International Ghana, President of DUSAF, UN Youth Ghana, IFED Global, PUSAG, Impact Agenda Network, Tony Elumelu Foundation Ghana Hub, YALDA Ghana, AYUC Ghana and many others.
