Emmanuel Andrews Samini – President

Samini is a songwriter, performer, and recording artist. He stands as one of the most outstanding Ghanaian musicians of the past decade.

He terms his brand of music “Samini Music,” which is a mixture of African melodies, dancehall, reggae, hip-hop, and R&B. From the year 1999 to 2007, he was known as Batman (an acronym for “Best of All Time Man”). The year 2007 saw the rebirth of his brand and a new stage name, Samini, through the release of a self-titled album.

His hard work, lyrics, and stage work, coupled with his untamed energy, come to define his success journey, as many of the youngsters look up to him as a “godfather.” Through his hard work and versatility, he has six studio albums to his name and brand.

Apart from being the first ever Ghanaian to receive a MOBO award in the UK, Samini has so many awards to his name, including the Ghana Music Awards, MTV Africa Music Awards, Headies, IRAWMA, Channel O Music Awards, Bass Awards, MTV Europe Music Awards, Black Canadian Awards, and many others.

Another laudable initiative born by Samini is the “Light A Million Lives” project, an initiative he has partnered with some stakeholders on to distribute at least 1 million solar lanterns to deprived communities and remote places in the countryside where there is no or not enough electricity, as well as to disabled societies. Samini has become more of an “entrepreneurial brand” than just a musician. He is in the agricultural industry and runs Highgrade Farms. He seeks to enter other ventures like technology where he can engage the youth to transform Ghana, Africa, and the world at large.

Samini is a confident and highly organized individual who holds a diploma in music production from Point Blank Music College in London and is currently pursuing a BSc in project management at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA). Samini is the GIMPA SRC President for the 2022–2023 academic year.
