DISQUALIFICATION OF ASPIRANT

GIMPA SRC

OFFICE OF THE ELECTORAL COMMISSION

SUBJECT: DISQUALIFICATION OF ASPIRANT

REF: GIMP/SRC/ EC/ ELEC/ 0011

DATE: 14TH MAY, 2019

In accordance with the electoral rules set out to guide nomination, aptitude test and vetting and subsequent election, aspirants were obligated to pick, complete and submit a nomination form, render themselves for for vetting procedure after which if results are published, balloting is done for voting modalities to be put in place.

As scheduled and published, Vetting of all presidential and Vice Presidential Candidates and other portfolios were duly held yesterday 13th May 2019 and results published thereof.

The Electoral Commission wishes to state for the record that Mr Samuel Bossman did not appear before the vetting committee to have himself and his running mate take an aptittude test and to be vetted to fulfil electoral procedures.

The Electoral Commissioner had made several attempts to get him present for the vetting but all proved futile.

It is based on this premise and for the pursuance of fairness that after all candidates painstakingly submitted themselves for the vetting process it will be in bad fate and a cancerous precedent to allow for a candidate who was not vetted to continue the electoral process.

In upholding the spirit of the Constitution of the GIMPA SRC and rules governing the 2018/19 elections, the Electoral Commission wishes to state that Mr Samuel Bossman and his running mate are disqualified from the 2018/19 GIMPA SRC Elections.

Thank you

Signed

Richard O. Nortey
