DELIVERY OF TEACHING AND LEARNING FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE SECOND SEMESTER OF THE 2020/2021 ACADEMIC YEAR

In light of the rising rate of infections of the new variant of COVID-19 in the country and its implications for the health and safety of staff and students, Management has decided on the following arrangements for the remainder of the semester:

Delivery of Lectures

Beginning tomorrow, Wednesday, 28 th July 2021, all lectures for the remainder of the semester will be delivered online. Lecturers are required to record lectures on Zoom and upload them to Learning Management Systems (LMS) in order to make them accessible to all students, particularly those who may encounter network connectivity issues during lectures.

  1. Mid-Semester Examinations

All mid-semester exams will be administered online via the LMS. All students must ensure that they are enrolled in the appropriate courses on the LMS.

  1. End-of-Second Semester Examinations

The end-of-second-semester exams will be taken in person. The examination period will be extended to ensure full compliance with the COVID-19 protocols in the examination hall. The Academic Affairs Directorate will circulate a revised academic calendar for the remainder of the semester in due course.

  1. Strict Adherence to COVID-19 Protocols

All staff and students must strictly adhere to COVID-19 protocols, particularly the wearing of face masks. Security personnel and all Supervisors/Heads of Units are directed to strictly enforce COVID-19 protocols on campus.

The most important responsibility of Management continues to be the health, safety, and well-being of staff and students, and it is the collective responsibility of all to ensure that we comply with the COVID-1 9 protocols for our collective safety.
